more than a tease …

we couldn’t stand the suspense another minute and decided to show some of the Queen Bee’s stitcheries afterall … the fun of sharing took us over

…  here is a “real” look at what I added to Margaret’s stitchery… more than the tease of my previous blog post

… I added a TAP transfer using a free Paper Whimsy image (sign up for Gale’s newsletters and you too can receive her generous gift of free images) …  I framed the lovely lady with  a piece of vintage fabric from an old embroidered dresser scarf …  pulling the fabric around from the back …  stitching around willy nilly with a few french knots to top it off … this was stitched above the lace and crocheted bits Margaret had added to the bottom of her stitchery… next I added the vintage lace and button to the top … those are some of the threads I used off to the side …

it will be fun to see the stitcheries in stages as they make each stop along their way home

there is a great giveaway that you will not want to miss here …  thanks to Cynnie I did not miss it … Silvia of Studio Sylvia is very talented and so very generous too … you know you want to have a look!

  1. This is so much fun to watch. Your willy-nilly stitching is so free. I love how you drew it around. Very nice.

I am going to sign up for some free images. I love the Paper Whimsey images and ordered some for a sachet swap. I also want to check out the giveaway. We have one going on, too, so stop and visit, if you wish!

    Hugs, Suz

  3. Oh wow!! This is stunning. I can’t believe that was a free image from Paper Whimsey. You do so well with those TAP transfers. Really lovely and, when it’s finished, something I know Margaret will love for years to come.

Oh, heck thanks for the link there…you know by us all herding everbody and their sister to Sylvia´s giveaway we lessen our chances on winning those stunning earrings and that gorgeous paper she paints….oh woe is me…I´ll just have to give in and buy another pair I guess:)
Is the “pow-wow” over on her blog by now? I guess she turned off her translator for now.

  10. Patty, Yum! The photo you’ve chosen is gorgeous and you took it to the next level with that cloth frame. Gorgeous texture and visual appeal. The lace on the bottom is “wow” as well as the button! BTW, your Tap transfers are always so wonderful. Do you have a favorite type of fabric you use for the transfer? Xo, Sue

  11. OOhhhhhh, Patty! This is Scrumptious!!! Thanks so much for sharing the entire piece. Peeking only served to whet our appetites for what was to come, and the wait (thank goodness you shortened it), was well worth it!

How innovative and clever of you to use a piece of old doily to frame this pretty lady. And all of that lace is so wonderful. Gorgeous! Happy weekend! Hugs, Terri xoxo

  20. Write about whet your appetite in the previous post! This is a much better presentation Patty. All these embellishments enrich the project. Those tiny knots are so delicate, you have such patience. A beautiful piece,. there is such serenity in her face. Your lace complements the lace on her frock. Thanks for mentioning my giveaway Patty. I put the Translator back on this morning, instead of last night, hoping the gremlins have now departed, and you will be able to view the post without having to decipher another language. From my end it was all fine, but obviously Cynnie and you had great difficulty.
