on the same day we visited Saint-Paul du Vence on our Best of France tour we also got to spend time in the medieval hill top village of Eze…
located between Nice and Monaco…
it is also called “the eagle’s nest” because of how it is perched on a narrow rocky peak overlooking the Mediterranean sea…
we opted out of the extra excursion most of our group took to the Fragonard Parfumeur…
because strong smells do not agree with me…
that gave us time to walk around town instead…
it was not very crowded on that Wednesday in April…
we climbed and clicked photos…
until we rejoined our group for dinner…
the lamp post above was covered in stickers that had the letter “F” on them stuck there by people who had been on the perfume tour in the past (you can click twice on the photo for a closer look)…
we had the Traveling Tea Cup with us and snapped some photos with thoughts of T Stands for Tuesday (you can see the box the tea cup and saucer travel in behind the rail on the left below)…
a brochure we brought home had a lovely map which inspired two more pages in my French Travel Journal…
I added a favorite image of young Teodoro even though he is Italian and not French…
along with strips of Florentine paper which added to the medieval feel with touches of gold and blue paint… part of a label from some sparkling wine was the last thing I added to my pages for the Art Journal Journey MAPS challenge… it may take me awhile to visit everyone because Jim is working on our computer and there seems to be one problem after another 😕 I had to stand on my head to get this to post

And I had to cross my eyes, stand with one hand over my head, and raise my right foot in the air in order to get this post to load. Sad, but almost true (not the right foot in the air at least). I can empathize with your computer woes.
Your photos are incredibly lovely, and I’m super impressed with the art journal spread you have created.
I sent a swap to Dianne, but before I did, I spilled three essential oils on a tag. You would have not been able to open the package, I fear, because the scent was overpowering in my small craft room, and I can imagine what the perfume factory would have been like if you are sensitive to scents. There are some I can’t deal with, because they give me a headache, but natural scents don’t bother me. I know that some perfumes have many scents combined to make a unique smell, so it was probably best that you spent the time walking and exploring.
Thanks for sharing these beautiful streets, alleys, and staircases with us for T this Tuesday. Hope your computer is fixed soon.

I definitely think you made the better choice to forego the perfume tour for walking around the town. I can’t take perfumes/scents either. Little medieval towns like this one fascinate me. Who was the first person who decided “this would be a great place to build a town”? Just think of the work involved in bringing up the building materials. Were the wood carvings in your pictures part of a store or were they scattered art pieces? Your journal pages are lovely. Teodoro added just the right amount of wonder, and the Florentine paper framed the pages beautifully.

I think I would have chosen to see this beautiful old town instead of the perfume maker as well. The photos all look lovely as does your journal pages. Hope the computer gets sorted for you soon.

All the buildings and their stones look so very old. These are beautiful photographs.
The tea cup looks so fragile to be travelling so much, but all is now revealed, it has its own special box where it feels safe.

My dear Patty, I`m sure your tour around the city was so much more worth, than visiting the Fragonard Parfumeur !! What a charming old city, with corners and beautiful steps to climb , it looks so wonderful with the amazing stonehouses, and the fantastic view .
The pages are again so beautiful with the red accents, and golden touches, I think for me Medieval is comparable with exactly those colors, seen on religious persons in pictures from that time.Love your Theodor ,so innocent and sweet – Wonderful pages, Patty ,with the card used and Florentine papers !!

Beautiful place!!!! I love the lamp post covered in the F stickers! Too fun! There is a wall in College Station, TX outside a bar that is covered in chewed gum. I like the stickers better.
