our son is making progress after his injury but the road to full recovery will take some time…
as far as me being creative I am lucky to snap a few photographs in the garden now and then with not much time for play…
a few months ago I had a great time creating textured backgrounds on three different canvases with no idea of where they might go next…
the canvas above measures 9×12 inch…22.86×30.48 cm
I only have the one “before” photograph above and that canvas is still waiting to be completed…
when we came home from our latest travels I was itching to create something so I got busy on the two 6×12 inch (15.24 x 30.48 cm) canvases…
I hardly create anything without an image or face on it so that is what I decided these two canvases needed along with more texture and interest…
for this one I used the original image (what was left after I transferred onto tissue paper) using the Citra Solv paper transfer technique…
the wings are from my Old San Juan treasure finds…
glued on using gel medium…
my favorite adhesive…
for my “Blessings” canvas below I glued on a laser jet lady image adding bits of German sheer curtain and vintage flowers from an old hat…
I stamped “Blessings” onto dress pattern tissue paper adhering it to the canvas with gel medium…
I really liked the idea of having backgrounds ready and waiting for the next time I have time to play…
That’s a nasty break your son has… poor guy. Love the richly textured surfaces of your canvases Patty.

Oh my…I haven’t seen an x-ray like that in many years…..it sort of touched my heart when I saw it. Poor guy… Our son did that to his arm at age 7 from a fall off the monkey bars….
He will heal…it takes time but thank goodness these young folks heal pretty well….and it will be strong again if not stronger….
Thinking of you all….
I loved your canvas…you always inspire me!

I am truly impressed with your lovely canvas, and even the one that you have yet to finish. Those wings are quite impressive. That was a good buy.
